In class today we had to come up with some ideas for our Common Place paper. At first I was very worried because my paper was about self esteem and bullying. It also was about the invisibility of a girl so I was not sure how to use these ideas for another paper. We had to write down our ideas and try to come up with as many as we could. I only came up with seven and did not really think mine were very good. Some of them were: If you were invisible for a day, what would you do? would you try to tell some? Even if you would try to tell someone, would they really believe you? That is not exactly normal to be hearing things from a person who you cannot see. Would you mess with someone you do not like? Would you mess with your friends? There are so many ways to answer these questions. In the episode of Buffy the girls could still touch things and people and still talk to people. So would you sneak around and see what people are talking about? I do not know personally what I would do with myself, even though I am pretty sure that this is impossible, it is still something to think about. There are so many different options to how you could spend a day of invisibility so the topic would give me many options to write about. I kind of want to make this paper funny, but i’m not sure how to do that yet. If anyone has any ideas I am open to suggestions.
If you want to go off the bullying thing, you can talk about last Wednesday about how people wore purple to honor Tyler Clementi, the boy who committed suicide because he was bullied for being gay.
ReplyDeleteAs for the invisible thing...I know this might be a stretch but there was that one Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick get invisibility spray and they spray themselves invisible and play tricks on everyone but in the end they got tricked...
I would totally mess with my friends and sneak around and do things I would never do in public. The invisible topic sounds soo interesting!
