28, The Real L Word

Well for my blog today I watched The Real L Word.  Chances are you have not seen this show, or probably even heard of it.  The reality show is on Showtime and gets pretty racy.  If you did not make the connection yet, the “L” is representing the word “lesbian.”  The show is about six lesbians, and all their friends, who live in Los Angeles.  The girls are Whitney, Jill and Nikki (who are engaged), Rose, Tracy and Stamie (who are dating), and Mikey.  Reoccurring characters are Natalie, who is Rose’s girlfriend, Raquel who is Mikey’s girlfriend, then Whitney’s many girls consisting mostly of Romi, Tor, and Sara.  Also, more reoccurring characters, Alyssa and Scarlet who are Whitney’s friends, actually just friends.  The show follows them around during their work and social lives.  Not too much is censored so you definitely get the full effect.  The episode I watched was called “It’s my Party and I’ll Cry if I Want To.”  Not very original, but a great episode.
Mikey is working on Fashion Weekend and her schedule is very tight and nothing is going right for her.  She flips out on her staff and then ends up at dinner with Raquel to wind down and gain her composure back, but unfortunately her mind is too focused on all the tasks she must complete before fashion week.
Nikki and Jill are hosting their first Passover Seder as a couple and are trying to redecorate the house for the occasion, so they call a consult that they have become friends with.  Instead of just a few small changes, everything begins to be remodeled, including a huge chandelier that ends up falling.  Nikki goes with the flow and makes up her mind quickly and usually does not worry about money, whereas Jill takes time to think and make decisions and is usually quite worried about the expenses, so this obviously did not turn out well.  Everything turns out fine and dinner goes better than expected.
Rose.  I do not like her.  She pretty much yelled at her girlfriend Natalie the whole episode and ended up leaving her at a party to go see her ex girlfriend.
Tracy’s birthday is coming up and she wants her mom to meet Stamie, but her mom has not quite accepted the fact that Tracy is gay.  That is about all that really happened there.
Then there is Whitney.  If you did not already come to the conclusion, she gets around.  She left off last week saying if she was going to be in any kind of relationship she would find herself with Sara.  Now onto this episode she makes a bet with Tor whoever wins their paintball tournament gets to have some fun with the other.  I am not going to go into any details since it is quite racy, but you get the point.  Whitney wins and cashes in on her bet, therefore putting Tor and Whitney even closer than before.  The next day Whitney throws a “white trash party.”  This party consists of alcohol and a blow up pool pool full of I guess water and cream corn.  Whitney and Scarlet fight and then Tor jumps in, but nothing big really happens.  Then Romi and Whitney are playing flip cup.  After a round, Romi grabs Whitney and takes her inside.  Romi and Whitney end up hooking up while Tor is right outside along with all the other party goers.  This was quite the racy scene and not too much was censored, they pretty much showed everything.  The night ends with Whitney crying on Alyssa’s shoulder, because one night she was with Tor and the next with Romi and now she is hurting herself by being a player.
Well seeing as how I am like tripling how many words I need for this blog I feel pretty accomplished, it is amazing how much and how fast you can write when you actually enjoy what you are writing about.
